  • The organisation actively recruits and supports the role of learning champions at all levels.
  • The organisation is working with unions to support this agenda, including supporting Union Learning Reps (ULRs).
  • Protected time for learning champions and ULRs to perform their duties is enshrined in the appropriate policy documents.
  • The organisation demonstrates its commitment to lifelong learning via a variety of high profile activities such as Adult Learners Week and the Health and Social Care Awards.
  • Local staff events that promote career progression and the skills escalator are conducted in partnership with learning providers and other appropriate stakeholders.
  • The appropriate policies provide an allocated amount of protected time for all staff to undertake learning and development activities related to their job roles. Staff who have been assessed to have LLN gaps are given additional protected time.
